Chemistry (toxicology) Section
Dietary imbalances are considered to be significant factors
affecting livestock production in British Columbia. This laboratory
section emphasizes the analyses for minerals, vitamins A & E, non-esterified
fatty acids (NEFA), beta hydroxy butyric acid (BHBA), and milk urea
nitrogen (MUN) analyses, that assist veterinarians and producers in
nutritional management and ration formulation -.
In
addition, the Chemistry / Toxicology section provides limited
toxicological analyses with emphasis on toxic agents such as
strychnine, metaldehyde, lead, mercury, nitrates, and
organophosphates (by acetylcholinesterase activityList of toxicology tests
