Animal Health Serology Laboratory

The Animal Health Serology Lab (AHML) is a  laboratory located in the Abbotsford Agriculture Centre. Created as part of the on-going Broiler Health Program, it is funded by the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and the broiler and breeder producers via the B.C. Broiler Hatching Egg Commission.

The AHSL has been accredited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for Equine Infectious Anemia, Enzootic Bovine Leucosis, Infectious Bursal Disease (ratites), and Brucella testing. This lab is also an approved Johne's Disease (M. avium ssp paratuberculosis) testing lab, having successfully passed NVSL (National Veterinary Services Lab of the USDA) serology and fecal culture panels since 1999.
