Life Cycle: Overwinter as adults in or near orchard. Nymphs present in late spring and mid-summer. Two generations per year.

Monitoring: Limb taps will detect adults and nymphs.

Hosts: Pear psylla, aphids, mites, soft-bodied insects.

Comments: Deraeocoris nymphs range from pink to pale grey in colour with dark markings. Adults are black with light brown markings and have a wide head. The body is stocky and somewhat rounded. They resemble adult anthocorids but the latter have a narrower, more pointed head and a narrower, flatter body with distinctive clear markings on their back.

Body length: Adult - 4.6mm; Mature nymph - 4.0mm
