Caterpillars (Apple-and-Thorn Skeletonizer, Red-humped, Zebra, Tent and Fall Webworm, and Bertha Armyworm)
These caterpillars will feed on almost all fruit trees and many shade trees and may cause extensive defoliation if left uncontrolled. Where feasible, remove and destroy infested branches. Most of the products applied for codling moth, fruitworm and leafroller control will also control any other caterpillars present. Where an integrated pest management program is in place, use the product least harmful to beneficial insects and mites to avoid disrupting the program.
