Jointed Goatgrass (Aegilops cylindrica)


  • Provincial Noxious Weed

     

  • winter annual grass with erect stems growing 0.4 to 0.8 metres tall

  • seeds are produced in joint-like structures on the cylindrical flowering spike

  • not known from British Columbia but approaching our border in the Pacific Northwest states

Hairy auricles and evenly spaced hairs on leaf edges
