Food Safety and Quality Unit

The Food Safety and Quality Unit works with the agri-food industry, retailers, consumers and other government agencies in the area of food safety and quality to provide leadership, information, resource material and technical support.  The Food Safety and Quality Unit along with the Livestock Health Management and Regulatory Unit also deliver a federal/provincially funded research and development program for surveillance, traceability, quality control, mitigation, education, risk, recognition, verification, audit and emergency management.
