This Act establishes the framework for the property assessment system in British Columbia, including classification of land as a farm and classification and valuation of forest land. The definition of "farm" is "an area of land classified as such by an assessor". The Act contains provisions for preparation of annual assessment rolls, the process for Courts of Revision and the process for property assessment review panels and the Property Assessment Appeal Board. This Act is linked to the Local Government Act and the Forest Land Reserve Act where privately managed forest land is affected.
