The purpose of this legislation is to prevent discrimination. The Code speaks to fostering full and free participation in the economic, social, political and cultural life of the Province; promoting understanding and mutual respect where all people are equal in dignity and rights; identifying and eliminating patterns of inequality; and monitoring the progress in achieving equality.
