This Act establishes legislation for motor vehicle operations. In November 1998, a regulation was passed which divided the ministerial administration of the Act between the Minister of Transportation and the Minister responsible for ICBC. The Ministry of Transportation is responsible for those sections that set out the rules of the road, traffic control device standards, and authorities of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles. The Minister responsible for ICBC has responsibility for those sections pertaining to vehicle and driver licensing, driver training, AirCare, photo radar and vehicle standards and inspection.
