Pesticide Labels
Applicator Responsibility
Both federal and provincial legislation states that pesticide applicators must follow the information on pesticide labels. The label includes any booklet or information that is attached to the package. The information includes:
- the use pattern (i.e. crop, pest, rate, timing)
- personal protective equipment (i.e. protective clothing, respirators, gloves)
- environmental considerations (i.e. buffer zones, drift management)
- precautions (i.e. storage, spills, disposal, application)
- resistance management practices
- restrictions (i.e. re-entry intervals, grazing restrictions, days before harvest)
