2012 Fraser Valley Soil Nutrient Study

Volunteers Needed !

Brochure - Fraser Valley Soil Nutrient Study 2012As a follow up to the Fraser Valley Soil Nutrient Study conducted in 2005, soil will be sampled from agricultural fields across the Lower Fraser Valley in the fall of 2012.  Soil samples will be analyzed for residual N-P-K in an effort to monitor soil nutrient status over time.

The aim is to sample from similar regions and cropping systems as the 2005 study, which were: West Delta, Mt. Lehman/Bradner, South Abbotsford, Sumas Prairie and East Chilliwack. Sampling was done for forage grass, forage corn, blueberries, raspberries, vegetables, and nursery/turf.

If you grow these crops in one of these regions and are interested in volunteering your field, please contact Clare Sullivan by April 30th.  More information on the study can be read in the brochure.
