Vision Statement
The Partnership Committee will support a growing and developing agriculture industry that is environmentally and economically sustainable and operates within an environmental regulatory framework that is transparent, consistent and efficient; involving an acceptable level of regulations, rules and guidelines developed in a coordinated manner and administered equitably.

Guiding Principles
- Agricultural practices and industry development must be conducted in a manner that protects and conserves the environment.
- Environmental protection policies and initiatives must be sensitive to the economic sustainability of agriculture.
- It is essential to find solutions that protect the environment and maintain the economic viability of agriculture.
- Decisions must be timely involving early engagement in discussion and cooperative resolution.
Objectives
- To foster communication between industry and government.
- To serve as a starting point and forum for consultation on agriculture/environment issues.
- To find and promote workable solutions with respect to environmental issues affecting the agriculture industry, including, but not limited to, issues pursuant to: Waste Management Act,
Water Act, Fish Protection Act, and Fisheries Act.
- To develop action plans for investigating issues and providing recommendations on options and solutions to the committee.
- Where agreements cannot be reached, to provide agency Executives and Ministers with options and recommendations.
