Agricultural Advisory Committees
in British Columbia
A growing number of municipalities and regional districts have appointed agricultural advisory committees (AACs) to provide a direct link to their farm and ranch communities. The AACs provide an effective way to gain advice on a wide range of agricultural issues.
As of July, 2009, there were 38 AACs (37 Agricultural Advisory Committees plus 1 Aquaculture Advisory Committee) serving 38 local governments across BC. Seventeen AAC's serve regional governments and 21 serve municipalities, cities, or a Gulf Islands Trust Committee.
