AAC Workshop 2007
The third biennial Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) Workshop was held on February 14, 2007 in Langley at the Newlands Golf and Country Club. The 112 participants represented 20 of the 27 AACs from around BC, plus 5 communities which were considering establishing an AAC, the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) South Coast Panel, and ALC and Ministry of Agriculture and Lands staff.
Presentations were made on 3 topics which were recent achievements of AACs:

Seasonal farm worker housing - Richmond rezoning process

Public awareness of local agriculture - Taste of Agassiz

Agricultural area plan - Spallumcheen
Small-group discussions focused on:

Developing criteria to evaluate subdivision

Participating in water management for food production

Farm "home plate" and farm house size

Methods and topics for local government support staff
The Proceedings document summarizes the presentations and small-group discussions. It also contain results of the participant evaluation of the workshop, a list of the workshop participants, and a list of AAC contacts.
